Selby are Architectural Design and Project Management Consultants, located right in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, specialising in the successful delivery of private residential projects throughout Kent, Sussex and Surrey.

We are a small office, though with this comes our ability to offer a personal and friendly service to our clients and we take pride in the positive, lasting relationships that we create. With a single point of contact from initial meeting, right through to project completion.

We believe in creation through communication and collaboration, by ensuring ongoing dialogue with our clients and assisting in the appointment and coordination of third-party professionals and consultants at the appropriate stages.

Our starting point to any new project is a face to face initial consultation, in which we pay careful attention to our client’s aspirations, investigate the context of the proposals and analyse any potential constraints. Reduce the worry and risk

Embarking on a new build or extension project invariably carries elements of worry and risk. Through our experience we have a thorough understanding of the typical risks that may apply to each type of project and our involvement at an early stage, ensures that these are identified and managed appropriately.

We have experience working with and negotiating with various local planning authorities, as well as close connections with some of the top local, independent planning consultants who’s input when appointed, can prove invaluable to the process of obtaining planning consent.

Understanding what to do is one thing, knowing who is best suited to assist you is quite another. Over the course of a building project there may be a requirement for additional professional services. You may need a planning consultant, a party wall surveyor and a structural engineer, to name a few.

 Selby have always remained entirely independent of these third-party services and this has enabled us over the years to work with a wide array of professionals, with varying levels of expertise. Through a process of elimination, we have arrived at a list of tried and tested professionals who we trust explicitly. They are not only experts in their individual fields, but they also represent value for money for the level of service that they deliver our clients.

We craft a clear and considered design brief with our clients from the outset, to form the foundations of a successful project. As experts in concept to completion, we are here every step of the way.

In a management role, we oversee the project from beginning to end, offering independent advice and during the construction phase we act as an intermediary between client and contractor.

 By developing detailed construction drawings and written specifications, every element of the design and build is carefully considered, meaning that when our clients enter into a tender scenario, they have sufficient detail from which to receive accurate and comparable building quotations. In addition, any decisions or issues relating to the design and build have been dealt with from the desktop as opposed to on site, saving clients both time and money!
