“our client approached us with the desire to embark on a self build project of his own.”
With a fair amount of space to the side of the dwelling and a more than generous sized garden for the existing property, the brief was to create a two storey side and rear extension to offer a larger kitchen/dining space to the rear with bi-folding doors to make best use of the lovely garden.
In addition to the increase of living space at ground floor, a garage was included in the proposal to provide the client with an internal storage space for tools and materials, but that would also be suitable for housing a vehicle at a later date.
At first floor the extension included three new bedrooms a new family bathroom.
“building footprint of approximately double that of the existing was achieved within a tight budget of £120k”
A completed building footprint of approximately double that of the existing was achieved within a tight budget of £120k, although important to note that the client was able to make significant saving by completing a lot of the work himself.
